Certified Landscape Technician (CLT)

A Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) is a landscape professional who has been certified through a national "hands-on" testing program developed by the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA, now the Professional Landcape Network, PLANET) and administered by the Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association (PLNA).

CLTs have demonstrated their mastery of a body of knowledge recognized as the national standard throughout the landscape contracting industry. They possess an expertise that is accepted as the standard of excellence in their field - landscape installation, landscape maintenance, or irrigation.

They are committed to the profession and the delivery of high quality, cost effective goods and services. These individuals have chosen to match their knowledge against a national standard and worked hard to earn the CLT certification.

Re-certification every 3 years assures that their knowledge, skills and abilities are continuously updated and stay current with national industry standards.

Certification saves you, the customer, money because the certified contractor's experience, knowledge, skills and abilities make them better able to successfully manage your landscape project. Look for the CLT designation proudly displayed after their name.
