2. Proper Acid Level
If you have a dry battery you might not need to check for acid level, but if you have an alkaline battery you should check for the acid and the solution level of the batteries. If your batteries go dry, then they face severe amount of damage in the process, losing their strength.
3. Proper Charge Level
If you are occasionally using your riding lawn mower, you should check for the charge level of the battery. The charge level of the batteries should never go below 25%. In case you have not used your mower for a while, it is recommended to check the charge level of the batteries.
4. Proper Storage
When you know that you are not going to use your mower for a while, it is strongly recommended to take out the batteries and store them separately. However, if you cannot store the battery someplace else, at least disconnect the terminals of the battery before storing the mower. If the battery terminals are connected, then there is always a minor loss of charge and you might get in trouble if you need to start the mower in case of an emergency.

The battery body might also get damaged in a while, always check for physical damages in the battery. In case there is a physical damage in the battery, it is strongly recommended to take it to the service center, as there are some portions of the battery which do not affect its performance. An authorized expert will help you in making the right decision.

In case there is a small damage in the terminal, you can replace the connectors of the mower to avoid further corrosion and loose connections.
7. Tight Connections
Always ensure that the terminals of the battery are very tightly fixed with the mower. In case there is a loose connection, there is spark in the terminals which damages the terminal as well as the cells of the battery. Moreover, it also damages the critical components of your mower. The connectors must always be very tightly fixed to ensure proper operations of the mower and long life for the battery.
These are a few simple precautions that will ensure the longevity of the battery life, but it is strongly recommended to replace the batteries as soon as their recommended operations tenure passes away or they start getting weak.
